The Jeep Grand Cherokee seems to have picked up yet another huge fan base. But this one is centered more specifically on the Summit EcoDiesel model.

The diesel-powered Jeep, which is a favorite of ours here at JK Forum, has been crowned the 2016 Green Active Lifestyle Vehicle (ALV) of the Year.

The ALV award is part of an annual event put on by Carspondent.com, which brings together outdoor enthusiasts, athletes, and the automotive media to evaluate new vehicles based on how they fit the needs of those with active lifestyles.

This year’s event, held at San Marcos Golf Resort in Chandler, Arizona, brought together more than 50 athletes and outdoor enthusiasts from around the country to evaluate the vehicles. National and local media, including Phoenix Automotive Press Association (PAPA) members, spent the first day of the event evaluating the vehicles.

The evaluation process for the ALV award includes both off-road and on-road driving.
