Here’s a Simple, Cheap Way To Relocate Your Third Brake Light
Some people look at their vehicle and love every single thing about it, inch to inch. Others see a vehicle and want to create something entirely unique and make it their own. Others, like JK Forum member Nelly, look at their Jeep Wrangler and see one or two small things that bug them. So, Nelly decided to whip up a quick little mod, and it turned out great.
Nelly didn’t like the factory third brake light’s position above the rear spare tire, likely because it could get in the way if you want to mount a bigger wheel with a bigger tire back there. Or because it looks funny, the post doesn’t specify. Regardless, Nelly wanted to move the light into the wheel in a place where plugging and unplugging wasn’t necessary when removing the wheel.
The only necessary parts for the DIY are a couple brackets, an LED light bar, and maybe some paint, if you don’t have any already. Other than that, you just need a saw, some mounting hardware, and maybe some tape and zip ties.
Below is the final product. Check out the full process, step-by-step, HERE.
