Jeep Builds Seven of the Top-20 Cheapest Vehicles to Insure in America
The 2014 Jeep Wrangler Sport is the least expensive new vehicle to insure in America with a nationally averaged $1,080 per-year premium.
If you own a 2014 Jeep Wrangler, Patriot, Compass Sport or Grand Cherokee Laredo, and you don’t have any tickets or accidents on your driving record, you are paying some of the lowest insurance premiums in the country.
Insure.com recently released its list of the most inexpensive cars, trucks and SUVs to insure in America. Among the top-20 least expensive autos to insure, Jeep dominated with seven vehicles on the list.
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo: 13th least expensive new vehicle to insure in America ($1,171 per-year premium)
SUVs and minivans were the most prevalent vehicles on the list because, according to the report accompanying the rankings, those types of vehicles are used mostly for schlepping kids back and forth across town. Generally, adults driving kids around town have a more cautious demeanor than other motorists. Furthermore, a major portion of Jeep owners are single or married women under 45 who have good driving records, which is great news for you rock-crawling Jeep purists — these ladies are saving you some dough.
2014 Jeep Compass Sport: fifth least expensive new vehicle to insure in America ($1,140 per-year premium)
Imagine if the majority of consumers used Jeeps as adventurously as they are portrayed in commercials? Off-road enthusiasts would be paying much higher insurance premiums, and I can imagine that would take some of the fun away from using a Jeep for its core purpose … fun times off the beaten path.
2014 Jeep Patriot Sport: third least expensive new vehicle to insure in America ($1,104 per-year premium)
