If you happen to come across anyone who still thinks Jeep isn’t one of the best brands in the world, be sure to share this bit of information with them.

In Japan, a market where loyalty to Japanese brands is among the highest in the world, the Cherokee was recently named by a panel of Japanese automotive journalists as one of the top-ten new cars. In fact, not only did the compact Jeep make the list, but also it was the only American-made vehicle to do so.

Overall, the Jeep Cherokee came in eighth place. According to data from the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, 3.7 million new vehicles sold in Japan over the first nine months of 2014. Only six percent of those sales went to automakers based outside the Land of the Rising Sun.

For the Cherokee to receive such an accolade, I think that plan for Jeep’s global domination we’ve been hearing about is well on its way.

Cheer for the Jeep Cherokee on the forum. >>
