Jeep CMO Honored as AD Week’s 2016 Automotive Genius

Well, it seems that we aren’t the only ones who thought the Jeep 75th Anniversary marketing campaign was one for the ages.

Apparently, even those more astute at weighing in on these sort of matters were impressed. So much so, that the staff at Ad Week, a highly-respected media outlet in the advertising world, awarded Jeep’s CMO, Olivier François, with its 2016 Genius Award for Automotive.

That said, most of you here probably should take a bow as well, considering that the campaign essentially relied on Jeep owners like you to drive the campaign, as exemplified by its catchphrase: “We don’t make Jeep, you do.”

According to Ad Week, the Jeep campaign, which included the #MyJeepStory social media campaign, included stories from more than 20,000 enthusiasts, from war veterans to diehard off-roaders, and everyone in between.

If you need further proof of the campaign’s success, the Jeep Portraits TV ad below, which debuted during the Super Bowl, has gotten more than 12 million views since February.
