Although much of the buzz around Jeeps during the recent East Coast blizzard centered on that wild snowboard ride in New York City, there were also some pretty monumental moments of outreach taking place.

One included a group of Jeep owners in Lynchburg, Virginia who got together to provide rides for local nurses to help them get back and forth from work during the wild winter storm, as highlighted in a WDBJ 7 report.

The group, known as The Seven Hills Jeep Club, started at 3 a.m. Friday morning and by 7 p.m. Friday had provided more than 150 rides for nurses.

Another group of Jeep owners in Knoxville, Tennessee pulled together to provide essentials like food and baby formula to area residents who couldn’t make it out in the bad weather, according to a Local 8 Now report.

We’ve also gotten wind of countless initiatives like the one organized by the Paducah Jeep Owners Club in Kentucky that stood ready to help pull out people stuck in the snow, as detailed in the WPSD Local 6 report below.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed that NYC snowboarder as much as anyone. But the volunteer work done by Jeep owners during the storm deserves to be highlighted as well.
