Jeep Owners Don’t Always Make the Best Spokespeople

There’s an old adage that says, “Just because you drive a Jeep doesn’t make you worthy of being a spokesperson for one.”

OK, that really isn’t an adage, but it certainly should be, which is exactly what Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate Tom Wolf, who we’ve covered here before, found out after having to pull a YouTube campaign spot featuring Jeep owners.

Unbeknown to Wolf, who has made a Wrangler a signature of his campaign, one of the Jeep owners featured in the ad starred in a torture-porn film, which shows violent images of people having body parts removed, according to a Penn Live report.

The Jeep owner, Alan Benyak, wasn’t hired by the gubernatorial candidate, but agreed to be in the video along with several other Jeep owners speaking of their support for the candidate.

Benyak’s pitch for Wolf was basically just telling viewers that the gubernatorial candidate served in the Peace Corps, but the idea of being involved in something called “torture porn” tends to overshadow anything else you might have to say, even if you do own a Jeep.
