Jeep Owners Shoot for Michigan Bridge Record

Here’s a challenge that every Jeep fan can get behind, and probably a lot of other American car owners as well.

A group in Michigan aimed to break a record held by a group of Mini-Coopers — of all vehicles to pit against Jeeps — in a road trip of sorts on one of the most iconic routes in the state.

The organizers essentially tried to rally as many Jeeps as they could to beat records held by Mini-Coopers, ATVs, and farm tractors for the most vehicles to have crossed Michigan’s Mackinac Bridge.

The event took place this weekend, with more than 500 Jeeps participating. It included a “Blessing of the Jeeps,” meet-and-greets, and a post-ride trip to Drummond Island for music and food.

What’s unclear, however, is if they beat the Mackinac record, as the only benchmark I found was an attempt by “hundreds” in 2015, which fell short of the record for the largest number of Minis in a parade.
