Jeep Renegade Takes on Black Bear Pass

Every time I talk to a so-called “Jeep person” about the new Jeep Renegade, I either get laughed at for suggesting such ridiculous sacrilege, or I get told to get the hell out. I just don’t get why people write the little Renegade off so quickly, often without driving it. I’ve been lucky enough to drive it a number of times, and every time I drive it, it surprises me even more with its capabilities.

I’ve taken it off-roading, through mud, through snow, and the Renegade always comes back wanting me to thrash it some more. Everyone just looks at it and thinks it’s a toy car, yet if Jeep were to build the original Willys today, they’d probably think the same thing about that.
