A Jeep Smaller Than the Renegade?
Even with the new Jeep Renegade set to hit dealer showrooms soon, Jeep is already mulling over a way to undercut it and possibly setup a new niche car for the market: A sub-compact crossover.
Speaking with Autocar, Jeep’s Mike Manley stated that the company was looking into building something that would slot beneath the new Renegade in both size and price.
While he went on to state that the company hasn’t made any decisions or even any design challenges yet, the fact that it could be one of the biggest growing markets has Jeep intrigued.
My biggest issue with Jeep putting out a CUV like this is that it would completely undercut the new Renegade, something that Jeep’s been pimping for the last two years. Why would they want to screw up what is most likely going to be a sales bonanza?
