Jeep Wrangler Manufacturing Will Stay in Toledo

I’m sure there are probably a lot of folks jumping up for joy in Toledo today – and with good reason.

After months of being left in limbo, the Great Lakes city has learned that manufacturing for the iconic Jeep Wrangler will stay put, according to an Automotive News report.

Yup, it appears that even the Italians have a soft spot for the history Toledo has with the Wrangler.

The city will, however, lose production of the popular Jeep Cherokee, which I’m sure wasn’t the ideal plan of how Toledo officials saw this playing out. Still, after a nearly one-year wait-and-see game, it could have been a lot worse.

And considering that the plan also includes building the much talked about new Wrangler pick-up at the Toledo plant, I think it’s safe to say that the city came out better than a lot of people expected.
