Jeep’s Cred Still Intact Following Fiat 500X Debut

Okay, I’ll say it. I’m damn glad the new Fiat 500X (pictured above) doesn’t look like the Renegade.

Sure, the new 500X SUV making its public debut at the Paris Motor Show is the same basic platform as the new compact Jeep, but the Fiat clearly has a softer look, which means the Jeep nameplate remains intact.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I wish the Fiat 500X well … just in a completely different space than the Renegade. After all, the Italian company has done a lot to help keep Jeep rolling.

Still, when it comes to sharing ideas, Fiat vehicles need to stay in their lane and leave the tougher stuff to the appropriate nameplate.
