Regular Car Reviews Gets Honest About the 1998 Jeep TJ

As you can see in the video below, Mr. Regular of RegularCars understands Jeeps. He really does, honest.

So we believe him when he says the TJ, being the last of the AMC-parts era, brings back fond fuzzy memories of a car that if made by any other name, one without the history, would be a certified flop. C’mon, we’re talking about a car with tech from the ’40s, slightly forcefully updated by government regulations with the comfort of a dentist’s chair.

Okay, okay, that may be a harsh take on the TJ, but you have to admit, Mr. Regular’s analysis is mostly true. What’s also true is the appeal. An unapologetic and instantly recognizable appeal. It seems that no matter what type of lift, wheel, tire, or even how many body panels you choose to remove, you always know it’s a Jeep — even though you might not be nerdy with the TJ, CJ, YJ, or any of the other acronyms that Jeep diehards will instantly correct if you say one wrong.

And then there’s the resale value. You can practically play bumper-cars with it daily and it’ll still line your pockets when the time comes to sell it. Mr. Regular feels it’s the car that gives itself up for you: the Jeep Wrangler TJ.
