Here’s One Way to Reinvent the Axle
Here’s a new axle system that is not only stronger, but lighter and more versatile, and it’s sure to beef up your JK’s axles, front and rear.
The ProRock XD60 starts out with a new nodular iron casting for increased strength and durability without increasing the weight of the case. It also allows for use of an optional larger pinion and carrier bearings. There is a new 10.1-inch (256mm) reverse cut, high-pinion ring gear that offers a 16-percent strength increase over the 9.75-inch Dana 60.
The new wheel ends support the 1550 U-joints and 30-series CV-joints for best-in-class handling, 49-degrees of maneuverability, and control. That wheel end also reduces overall weight of the axle by up to 68-pounds. Furthermore, there is the option of upgraded upper/lower ball joint selections and a variety of five- and eight-bolt wheel patterns.
