Rubicon Tackling the Desert May Be Best Jeep Vid Yet

Until someone makes a video showing a Wrangler launching into space, this will likely go down as the most kick-ass Jeep clip to date.

Okay, so maybe that’s a bit extreme, given some of the other Wrangler videos we’ve shared here. But either way, it’s definitely up there.

The clip, which is actually a promo for Penzoil, is a three-minute, no-holds-barred thrill ride showcasing a beefed-up Wrangler Rubicon shooting through some insane desert terrain. And while the video is more specifically focused on motor oil, it could easily be mistaken for a Jeep promo, or a trailer for the next installment of the Mad Max movie.

The specific goal of this spot, however, is aimed at showing how well Penzoil holds up to extreme heat in the desert, where temperatures can soar to nearly 130-degrees Fahrenheit in the open terrain, and 200-degrees Fahrenheit for the engine.
