As the marque readies for 2016, it looks like Jeep will finally be able to put one of this past year’s troubles behind.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced that it has closed its investigation of Cherokee fires, prompted by two incidents filed with the agency.

The most troubling complaint came from the Cherokee owner above, who, one day after she purchased the vehicle, detected an oily smell before finding the Jeep’s engine-compartment roasting with 20-feet flames, which completely destroyed the vehicle.

As highlighted in a Left Lane News report, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles initially dismissed the complaints as “random and isolated occurrences of under hood fire.” But after receiving more complaints about Cherokee fires, the company finally determined that there was a defect in the routing of the A/C line that was causing the problem.

The company finally issued a recall on the Cherokee, which NHTSA now says has satisfied the agency’s safety concerns over the Jeep.
