Searching for the Real Reasons Why People Buy Jeeps

buy a jeep

Jeep folks are loyal. It’s not just a mode of transportation to them. It’s an extension of their personality. And in their eyes, no other 4×4 can quite equal a Jeep’s capabilities. But most loyalists will still admit that Jeeps are flawed. Wind noise, tire noise, fuel economy, and a ho-hum engine are just a few. Yet those flaws are often overlooked, sometimes ignored, and sometimes embraced. So why do Jeep folks buy Jeeps? A recent JK Forum thread takes a look inside the owner’s mind to find out exactly the reasons why.

In short, “it’s a Jeep thing.” The long answer is: driving with the top down, the doors off, in sandals or even bare feet is simply an experience that you can’t get from any other vehicle on the road. And then when you must get somewhere, there are no obstacles. The Jeep allows you to be nimble and have options, which Jeep owners see as the ultimate expression of freedom. A Jeep also has limitless options for building it into your own personal SUV, and even when you want to upgrade, the resale value is incredibly high.

All of these reasons make it pretty clear why “it’s a Jeep thing.” Don’t you think?
