Any concerns that Jeep might be abandoning its off-roading roots should stop here.

Sure, I definitely get some of the concerns, with all the talk of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) pushing for more fuel efficient Jeeps as part of the company’s new global strategy. But after scanning through this July Jeep Order Guide featured in a Motrolix report, we’re convinced the core DNA of Jeep is still very much intact.

One of the Jeeps that speaks to that specifically is the 2016 Jeep Wrangler “Black Bear Edition,” named after Black Bear Road, the popular Rocky Mountain trail located near Telluride, Colorado.

The off-road performance specs on the new Jeep include a Command-Trac transfer case with a 2.72:1 ratio, Dana 30 front and Heavy Duty 44 rear axles, 3.21:1 axle ratio (with a 3.73:1 option), tow hooks, and rock rails.

The Black Bear Edition has a ground clearance of 8.0 inches for the 4-door Unlimited model and 8.4 inches of clearance on the 2-door edition, which should meet the approval of most Jeep enthusiasts looking for a new set of wheels.

Pricing is listed at $27,895 for the two-door and $31,695 for the four-door model.
