Which Subwoofer Is Right for Jeep?

It’s a pretty old question for those of us who love music: should you choose more speakers, or bigger speakers? Napajeep posed this question a couple of years ago in the forum, but I felt like it should be revisited, because there is a lot of good info in the thread. What started as a discussion between two 10-inch subs versus a single 12-inch sub quickly turned into a pretty healthy discussion on the merits of good speakers over bad speakers, volume over punch, and the importance of box construction.

For my money, I prefer the solid punch of one larger speaker over two smaller ones, and it saves space. I also think custom boxes are better than premade units. I enjoy having a housing that is custom built to fit the specific place I need it to, so that I can maximize volume while minimizing its intrusion on my cargo space. Very important factors when looking at a Jeep. I also think that spending more money on smaller/fewer speakers is better than blowing your cash on as many speakers as possible. For the most part, you get what you pay for, and one or two really high quality cones will sound a ton better than a wall of vibrating noise pointed at your head.

If you are at all curious about putting some subs into your JK, hit the thread and give it a quick look-see. You are bound to learn something.
