Taunton Jeep Jamboree

The next time someone ask you to define the spirit of Jeep, you might want to send them a link to this story.

For the past four years, a group of Jeep owners in Taunton, Massachusetts has been holding a Jeep Jamboree called Wounded Soldiers Day to help raise funds for military servicemen and women who have been injured serving their country.

The most recent Wounded Soldiers Day, as highlighted in a Taunton Daily Gazette report, drew nearly 200 Jeep drivers, who went for a 50-mile ride that ended up raising nearly $10,000 for Lance Cpl. Nick Eufrazio. The Marine has a severe brain injury after being struck in the head with shrapnel from a grenade that exploded near him in Afghanistan.

As the guest of honor, Eufrazio road with his mother, Suzanne Guenthner, in a Jeep that led the parade of supporters.

Craig DeMoura, a 1989 Wrangler owner, organized the event. “It’s a moving thing for me,” he told the Taunton Daily Gazette. “It’s what I thrive on every year. That’s my goal — to raise as much money as I can.”
