#TBT: MotorWeek’s 1987 Jeep Cherokee Retro Review

Our old pal John Davis from MotorWeek is back for another Retro Review, and this week he’s looking at the 1987 Jeep Cherokee. The Cherokee was always a great machine, but it lacked a great motor. That changed in ’87 with the introduction of the venerable 4.0-liter straight six. The entire video below talks about how the Cherokee has great space, great handling, incredible off-road ability, and now with the new engine, plenty of power and performance.

They even went so far as to compare it to a Range Rover!

These were the real glory days for the Cherokee name. If you miss the sight of the old-school square SUV, just press play and watch this mighty Cherokee tackle track maneuvers, off-road terrain, and more. Or just do it to hear someone in the know talk about the greatness of the Jeep and that mighty 4.0L engine.
