So let’s say that you’re the type of Jeep owner that prefers to veer away from the asphalt and pavement. Maybe you were the one that petitioned for the “mud brown” paint option from the factory. Possibly you are someone who has considered investing heavily in the local car wash market, “just because.” If that’s you, or if you’re simply looking to take on a local weekend car show, getting your Jeep’sĀ engine bay clean can appear daunting. It’s not.

As much as some people may tend to believe this, you should not simply lift the hood and go to town with a power washer or garden hose. I’m not going to sit here and say that I haven’t seen that done, I’m just saying I wouldn’t recommend it. There are a few steps that you can go through in order to not only clean the engine bay, but also to keep the engine safe at the same time. This week’s How-To Tuesday article goes through the short steps involved in getting your Wrangler clean and keeping it damage free.

The Wrangler is in a class all to itself. There are many owners out there that not only enjoy the off-roading aspect of ownership, but also enjoy showing off a spotless ride. So what tricks of the trade have you developed? There have to be some shortcuts out there that not everyone is aware of. Feel free to share, or even better yet, go mudding and then shoot a YouTube video of your best cleaning tricks and hacks. You never know, maybe you’ll be on the next installment of How-To Tuesday!
