So you have been driving your Jeep, and for some reason it is feeling a tad-bit sluggish. You can’t put your finger on it, but you’re perceptive, and know that something isn’t quite right. Switching gears used to be a smooth, easy transition, but now it feels bulky. If this thought has gone through your head, chances are you have a problem with your manual transmission. Before you start to freak out, it may not be an expensive issue. In fact it may be an incredibly easy issue to solve.

This week’s How-To Tuesday article goes into the incredibly difficult task of changing your manual transmission fluid by yourself. Except when you read the article what you are going to find is that swapping out the transmission fluid on your JK at home isn’t all that difficult. You will find that you may need to do some improvisation, but in the end, the biggest challenge will be overcoming the concern of you doing it on your own. And let’s be honest, for some of us that really is the first and biggest hurdle to get over.

The article breaks down the process into four painless and easy steps. Had I not read through the article already I wouldn’t believe myself when saying that. So it really boils down to if you are okay with paying a mechanic for a minimum shop charge, materials, and taking out the trash fee. Or are you willing to take less than an hour out of your day to do it yourself and save at least 50 bucks? I think I could find several different ways to spend $50.

Have you taken on this project at home? Any suggestions to give to those that have not done it? Recommendations?
