If there’s ever been an ad that really drives home Jeep’s deep connection to our military heroes, this would be the one.

The ad below, which ran in conjunction with Veterans Day last week, was created to honor the men and women who served with the very first vehicle to be considered for a Purple Heart during World War II.

The 30-second spot features a replica of the Jeep known as “Old Faithful,” which was retired and awarded a Purple Heart after leading U.S. Marines through two beach landings and a shelling by Japanese forces during the Battle of Guadalcanal in 1943. According to Ad Week, during its 18 months of service, the WWII Jeep served as transportation for four Marine generals and a number of other high-ranking military personnel.

The original war Jeep was supposed to be displayed in the Marine Corps Museum in Quantico, Virginia, but apparently it was somehow lost over the years, which makes the ad even more special.
