Among all the recent stories we’ve been hearing about some Jeep Grand Cherokees inexplicably shifting on their own, this report is one of the most disheartening.

According to Cincinnati.com, a woman was killed in Anderson Township when her unoccupied 2003 Cherokee rolled back, pining the woman between the Jeep’s door and a garage pillar.

The woman, 36-year-old Erica Massa, was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Local authorities are said to be looking into the accident, but have stated it’s clear that drugs or alcohol weren’t a factor.

The news comes a few months after JK Forum reported that some car washes were starting to ban Grand Cherokees from their facilities for being prone to unexpectedly accelerating.

Let’s be clear, there’s been no connection drawn between these car wash incidents and the Cincinnati woman’s death. But it certainly makes us question if Jeep needs to be taking a more thorough look at these Cherokees.
