Did my 4 from 97-01. Got out as an RM2....ok. Well, IT2. They changed the rate right before I got out. Super bummed about that. I was on the Shreveport (LPD-12) out of Norfolk then on to NCTAMS LANT for my last ~8 months. I miss it but still work as a contractor.

Did 5yrs active 04-09 and 1yr reserves. AM2(AW) Served at North Island, San Diego, CA on CG Antietam, DDG Kidd, DDG Preble, CVN Stennis, and a week on CVN Nimitz.

Well I'm a MM2 SW I was on thr USS Boxer for 5 years in aft main space. It's all old fashioned steam ship and it's hot dude. It'd the least of your worries. Most electricians that stand watch in the engine room stand EPCC electrical plant control Center and it's in a air conditioner room inside the engine room so your golden.
