JK Rod Holders
As a new owner of my first Wrangler (prior vehicle was a Ford F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab with 8' bed) I have begun investigating ways to fit all of my gear in a much smaller vehicle. I found a great solution to carrying fishing rods if you have a soft top. I purchased a set of Berkley Rod Racks from a local sporting goods store for about $10. I also purchased a roll of Velcro strap from the local hardware store. I found that I am able to strap the Berkley racks to the top of the sound bar in the front and the top of the rear roll bar without them coming into contact with the soft top. I can then carry up to four rods without having to worry about them being broke or hitting anyone in the head. For short rods up to 6' I face the rod tips forward and if I need to carry my long surf rods I swap the rod racks and face the tips to the rear sticking out of the rear window (unzip it a few inches).
Best part about this is it only costs a few bucks and didn't require any permanent mods to the Jeep.

I picked up mine at a local sports shop, but here is a link to the same one.

I originally thought of installing them hanging down, but with the soft top there is plenty of room on top.
