Just returned home. Jeep pulled the Rpod great. It shifts more than normal which is expected. But went up and down hills without any problems. Cruised down the interstate at 70 no issuses. Had a geat trip.

Thanks for the info, how bad was the jeep rear sagging from tongue weight?

If your worried about it sagging I would suggest a air-lift system, cheap and very to install.

We pull this camper with no issues. It is a Vymeron made by Microlite. It is all aluminum and weighs 1400 lbs empty. We really enjoy it and love sleeping off the ground with air conditioning on a hot summer night. The only major thing that I wish was different was the size of the tires.

I have a weight distribution hitch with sway control installed so the Jeep set level. Very little bounce over bumps also.

Nice setup. We just bought the Rdome for our Rpod. Going camping on the 27th and get to try that out too

Its not camping yet, but finally picked up our new Hood River R-pod.. After reading people say jeeps weak, i started getting worried about pulling it..
Its not even a strain on stock sahara, 5th gear 60mph @ 2k rpms and it don't even make the jeep sag with normal hitch..
I have a new weight dist hitch in a box im adding for extra smooth ride..
Now to just find some open camping....

Just finished a trip to Memphis. 1200 miles round trip pulling our Rpod 179. Avg. 12.4 mpg. Ran 65 -70 most of the time. Jeep did great.

We picked up a 179 a couple of months ago and the camper is great. We have a modified 4 door with 4.10's and we have taken it out a few times in Utah, to the Tetons, and will be taking it to Ouray in a few weeks and it pulls great. We moved up from an E2 trailer and can barely tell the difference between the trailers.
