I thought they closed that mill a few years ago. Anyway, the beach is ok. I grew up there and live in Norfolk now. Norfolk is good if you get the right area. Some of my friends at work live in Chesapeake and like it but I don't know why. Just kidding. Tidewater is a little bit of a drive to Franklin and traffic around here can be bad at times. If you are a Tech EE have you applied to NNS or NAVSEA? I am a ME and work on ships.
Good luck....engineering is a lot of fun. I tell people I get paid to do my hobby.

Yeah they did close this one a few years back. But in 2012 they reopened it making only fluff pulp. No more copy paper which was there biggest problem. I haven't applied to either of those places, but I know they both recruit heavily at Tech. The 3 I'm really between right now is Eastman Chemical in Kingsport, TN, MC Dean in Nova, and IP in Franklin.

Hello fellow VA Jeepers.. I'm currently from Pittsburgh, PA. I am relocating to Culpeper County for work on Jan. 1 2015. I was wondering what the laws were for Jeeps, like tires sticking out, flares, no flares, lifts, etc. I would appreciate any help and info on what's good and not good in the area.. Thanks in advance and I hope to see some of you around!

If you balance and rotate tires yourself then you should have no issues. If you try to go to a shop and have them do it for you then usually they won't touch it with spacers. I imagine it is a liability issue if the spacers are the reason for any kind of failure. One of those "use them at your own risk" type of things I guess I can't imagine a cop actually getting on his hands and knees to check for spacers, but who knows.

I have my vehicle inspected every year and pass with them. I also just had new tires mounted and balanced and haven't had any issues either. I guess some places could be picky about it though.
