3.8 keeps spinning bearings.
Hello everyone, like the title says my 08 jku Rubicon is on its 4th rebuild. I bought this thigh about two years ago. It had 72,xxx miles. 6 months later and only about 3,000 miles the oil light came on and the engine spun bearings. Searched for a while and found a shop that would give me a 3yr., 36,000 mile warranty if they did the install. We followed all rules no more than 55 mph for the first 500 miles and did first Oil change. Two months later on a trip out of town and only about 1,000 miles on fresh long block, the jeep decided to spin bearings again. Had to tow it back to Houston, took back to shop and was told the reason was a timing cover was bad and not allowing oil pump to seal properly and cause for low oil pressure. Was charged an additional $1,500 for a new cover and fluids. Well hear I am exactly 1 yr. Later on the same trip and the jeep decided to spin the bearings again. This time on the way back. Towed it back to Houston to the shop and am waiting on a response from the shop. According to them they installed a different block an crank both times. My question is what can be causing this to happen? All 3 times have been different blocks and cranks. Jeep has 3.5 in. Lift, 35 in. Tires on 17 in. Wheels, Stubby bumper with winch , rear bumper with Tire carrier, and no mods to engine, did not want any excusses from Shop to void warranty. Jeep only has like 83,000 mile on it now. This is my weekend toy so it doesn't get driven very much. Thank you all in advance for any and all help.
