Although not the biggest fan of 1911s, I have two (Let's face it, a lot has happened with firearms and ammunition design since Grover Cleveland was sworn in. Hell, even John Browning moved on....). I have a MILSPEC Springfield M1911A1 and this MARSOC tribute that I built from an 80% frame and a box of parts. I did all of the fitting and applied the oven-cured Cerakote Magpul FDE finish.

1911 is tried and true. A quality 1911 can't be beat. Just my opinion. I love my Kimber Tactical Entry II, but I know there are a lot of great guns out there that have been through hell and back. I would be happy to own a Glock among others. We are lucky to live in a time with so many great options. I just hope we can continue to protect our second amendment rights. You have a beautiful 1911 there. Nice build.

I own 3 XD's a 5", a 4", and a 3.3" subcompact.
All 45 all take the same mags and eat everything.
Might cost more than a glock but only one I like is the 19, the rest of em aren't that awe inspiring.

I have a bunch as well as most of you do. Here's a pic of my safe. Bunches of glocks, 1911s, black guns, hunting rifles, and assorted revolves & TC contenders. 
Favorites would be the contenders and my series 70 colt combat commander. Just cool to shoot!
