I just tend to be a traditionalist and a classic like that IMHO should be preserved like one of those beautiful mahogany Chris Craft or Riva runabout boats from the '30s.

I think it's pretty sweet! I don't know what one would necessarily do with it though. It's obviously not gonna crawl over anything and it doesn't look like it'd be street legal. Sand I guess?

^this i dont like so much.
But i really like the willys posted in the OP. It would be alot of fun for a weekend toy to drive around town. It has personality. That guy just took scrap parts he found from places and turned it into that on a budget. If i remember right, he just collected 90% of those parts from salvage yards. Sure its not all that functional unless its a nice day outside, but it would be awesome to have that in the garage.

LOL - that's not frustrating to me at all. That's actually a fully restored stock 1950 DJ-3A Surrey made when Jeep was run by Kaiser, and not some modded out rig. I think they were marketed heavily in Hawaii for tourism. FWIW, I think the "rat-rod" in my original post is waaaaaayy cooler than this even though the surrey suits my preference to go more to stock.
I don't know why some people are getting so bent out of shape about my comments. I'm just saying that I couldn't take a '45 Willys and rod it out like that. I also have a 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe and have been a Mustang fan for as long as I can remember. I once went to a Mustang show and saw a 1969 Mustang Fastback 4x4 with what had to be on 40"+ tires. I remember thinking aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh! Why would anybody do that? I think I was 14 at the time.
To each their own, this I understand, but sometimes I think it can go too far sometimes, that's all.
