Default 3rd brake light
I live in Mass. Does a 87 wrangler come with a 3rd brake light. Do I need one

I wouldn't have thought it would come with one since they were not required back then. No idea if Mass law requires one mounted now, tho.

I thought cars required them in 1986. Not sure about trucks and SUV.

In high school I drove an '88 wrangler and there definitely was no third brake light. Back then I thought it would be cool to have one. Now on my '08, I cut the 3rd light of and put lug lights in its place.

How times change!
