We had a pig roast here right off the side of the trail. Some guy brought a grill/smoker and everything

Seriously? Would help with not needing to put a hot grill back into the jeep (or waiting to it to cool down). I'm still sensitive about the jeep since new and only made 2 pmts.

Where exactly do you put things to cook? I assume right over the engine is the hottest, but how do you keep it from rolling around and falling under?

On tj's some ppl put it in header I always sat mine on top of intake manifold and in about 45-60 nice and hot. Havent tried to on jk yet

Check out "Manifold Destiny: The One! The Only! Guide to Cooking on Your Car Engine!" You can find it at Amazon. I got the original about 15 years ago from a local, independent book seller. Nothing like opening your hood at lunch time on the trail in front of new Jeeping buddies for a hot meal. Pretty funny to see their faces.

BBQ is one of the best part about trail rides. I don't think we have had a single trail day yet where we didn't bbq steaks, chicken, brats or something tasty.
