Trails in Vegas?
#2
Would like to know as well. I've heard of cold Creek (think that's the name) which Is just north of Lee Canyon Rd on the i95. Going to go check that one out as soon as it cools down a bit out here. Would be cool to get together with some forum members and go hit some trails!

Just got back from vacation in Vegas. We did the Rocky Gap Trail which is in the Red Rock National Park. Decent trail with some mid level rock crawling. Also, Logandale Trail is located northeast of Vegas. This trail is more extreme with all you can handle. Look up Las Vegas Rock Crawlers. They do jeep tours all around Vegas and may let you tag along or at least let you know where else to look. Tim was a great guide and has a nice collection of trail rigs that you can actually drive.

I'm at Fort Irwin, which is 150 miles south of Vegas. Afton Canyon is a great off-road area, and about 100 miles to your south. It follows the Mohave river, and there is everything from rock crawling to 3' deep water crossings. The Mohave National Preserve (by Baker, CA) also has some decent 4-wheeling. Keep going south towars Barstow (180 miles) and you have Coyote Lake, the Calicos (with the very technical Hell's Gate) and Rainbow Basin.

There is burrow wash that is an easy trail that will lead from boulder city down to the Colorado river.
Rocky gap/potato ridge is from red rock to lovel canyon.
There are 3 or 4 different trails in Nelson.
There are multiple trails in mt charleston. Pretty much head up Kyle canyon road and find a head.
Logandale has multiple trails ranging from super easy to pretty extreme.
There will also be trails in Jean which are ranging in skill level as well.
Always take water food and recovery equipment

You guys are awesome! I am very new to what the Jeep can do. I am looking for trails to just get my baby dirty and out there to get used to it.
I am all for meeting up with a group to go on some trails. Just know I'm a novice or a big giant noob. Haha
Be nice!

Check out the Dessert Wranglers. It's a good group that conducts regular trail rides throughout the area. They also occassionally do overnight camping trips. You can join the Meetup, then keep an eye on the rides, they fill up fast!

Would you be out in Logandale this weekend. I am new to the area. Visiting from Cali and have heard and read a lot about logandale.
Let me know if you know of any group that I can join out there this Sat/Sunday or if you would be out there.
Thanks
Tony
