Thanks for the replies guys. I only have one problem with the dash mount. I always put my cell phone there. I'll look into it a bit more and see what I think though.

I think it depends on your height and how high you have your seat. The first picture shows a clear rearward view from that camera /eye level angle.

I tried to capture it roughly from my driving position. As BlackRockBurner points out, it worked for me but you might want to have someone hold it up there for you as a test. You can look up the dimensions of my radio (Uniden 980) to get an idea as to what will fit up there. With the coax connector sticking out this radio is as big as you can go. A right angle connector might buy you some more room but the power cable on many radios sticks out too, another consideration.

I used the stock bracket that came with the radio but drilled additional holes to mount it slightly offset. This allows full use of both visors. Notice how the angle of the radio bracket isn't straight up and down, the radio would have been hitting my mirror if it wasn't slightly restrained by the plastic. This also took some pressure off of the coax/power cable. I had to take a few measurements and make some final adjustments to get it right. Major PITA to hold the radio, mark the bracket for drilling the holes, etc. all by yourself, if I had to do it again I'd buy a few Harpoons and invite a buddy over.
To mount the bracket to the loop I got some insulated clamps (not the best description) from Home Depot electrical department. I have since seen them at Advance Auto Parts (Part No. 85605), but am not sure if they are the same size as the ones I have. You will also need some L-Brackets and machine screws to complete the assembly.
This setup has been fairly well documented around the forums. I was worried it wouldn't work with the new mirror style, but with a little patience initially it has worked great.

Got mine from strikeforcezebra.com it attaches the the loop above the rear view unfortunately in my 13 my radio is bigger so it interferes with my rearview so my rear view is looking at mt back seat :(
