Looks good! Where did you mount the body? What Mount is the Mic on? I really Like that. Looks good, welcome to the club of HAMS.

The body of the radio is mounted to the bottom of the passenger seat. Cant remember the name of the mic mount, its the one that is talked about quite a bit on the forums here. I think its made by Cool Tech.

This thread, is not cool. I want an FT-90 so bad now. That looks like a clean install.

What did you use for your mic extension? Very professional look and install. Getting ready to finally install my ft-400.

Thanks

Default 2015 JKU Sahara Installation

Jeff, thanks for sharing the pics and details. I'm going to try this for my FT-8800 install. I'm going with a slightly lower spare tire mount so I can garage park and hope that the spare rim doesn't deflect the signal too much.

Did the radio head mount above the rear view mirror work out? Does it give you a stiff neck if operation for very long?

Thanks, Michael...

ID:	574502 Mounted my Kenwood to the rear view using Ram Mounts. Very strong! Also mounted the external speaker in the "power window switch" hole in the dash. It's mostly hidden, as well as clear and loud. Radio is under driver seat on a factory bracket.

I will be putting my Kenwood TS 480sat in my JK in the coming weeks. I will post pics after the install. I built my own ant mount similar to the one in the previous post.
