Just got my Tech license a few weeks ago. Installed a Yaesu 7900 last week. Home made antenna mount and a Diamond antenna that will fold over for clearance issuses. Love this radio, pretty much plug and play installation.

2015 JKU Sahara Installation
Jeff, thanks for sharing the pics and details. I'm going to try this for my FT-8800 install. I'm going with a slightly lower spare tire mount so I can garage park and hope that the spare rim doesn't deflect the signal too much.
Did the radio head mount above the rear view mirror work out? Does it give you a stiff neck if operation for very long?

I will be putting my Kenwood TS 480sat in my JK in the coming weeks. I will post pics after the install. I built my own ant mount similar to the one in the previous post.
