"Bull whips"? Never heard the term in reference to a whip antenna.

I ran a 102" whip used as a random wire hooked up to an Icom AH-4 tuner for a while. Don't know if I have an image still. Removed it as the performance was not good enough to really enjoy.

They work great for CB usage though.

Not willing to derail the thread. I'm installing a whip with the AH-4 for my Icom 706 Mk II g. What you did not like about it and what are you using now?

A bull whip is what Indiana Jones wears on his belt and uses to beat bad guys with. Not sure what it has to do with radios, but I too would be interested to see any pictures anyone has of them installed on their Jeep.

Perhaps a bull whip hanging on a whip antenna would also be nice. I don't care what they say, size matters and long flexible but rigid antennas are sexy on Jeeps and I love seeing them!

I have a pretty nice mild contest station at my base QTH. For me, the extreme low efficiency of the antenna system made operation unpleasant and unrewarding.

I've sold all the module HF gear and just have VHF in the jeep now. Leave the HF work for portable setups with my K3 or my base QTH.

It's a large antenna. From military terms sometimes attaching from the rear to the front.

Not sure about the long flexible rigid thing.

Here is my HAM HF antenna ball mounted on the right rear fender. When on the trail, I install a 102" SS whip to match the CB frequencies (10 Meters). As seen it has a 20 Meter fixed frequency whip. To get it in the garage, I pull the antenna forward and clip it to the window drip rail.
