I like it a lot. I work out of my Jeep, so I use it for my pens and glasses as well as the CB. I also added some small LED pods for dome lights because the stock dome lights are just in the wrong places and I sometimes have to read/write before dawn. I only have 2 issues with the console - it doesn't play well with the Freedom Panels of the hardtop (but I made it work) and the Molle straps only allow for mounting the bags in one direction. I added some metal strips to the Molle straps to allow me to mount some of the bags at a 90° angle.

I have a mount similar to this one for a small Uniden CB...think it's the 510XL. It works well. Does not get in the passengers way, easy to get to, uses the existing bolts on the console.

I've mounted a full size Cobra 29 above the rear view mirror in the past. Bought a Uniden 980 that I plan to put in the dash at some point.

I was thinking uniden bearcat 980ssb based off of another thread here, any other recommendations?

I would absolutely go with this mount:

Accessories unlimited AUJ1 FENDER MOUNT FOR 2007-UP JEEP WRANGLERS

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IHMZT1S..._MlLNvbP7GGS2J

Forget the spring. And forget the spare tire mount. Get a firestik firefly 4 footer tuneable tip. Route the coax through the hole the clutch would use in the firewall assuming you have an automatic.

I have mine mounted with this overhead bracket from Rugged Ridge. I have a full size cobra 29 mounted on it with no problem.
