Cool How doyou run theCB power line through the firewall on a 2012?

I finally decided to install a CB in my 2012 JKU. When I went to run the power line to the battery, there was no obvious opening to run the line through the firewall like there was on my TJ and 2008 JKU. Assistance please, and a photo or two would be a great help. Yes, I did the search function. Three of three links were unavailable, what ever that means. Many thanks for your assistance.

It is next to the door jam. Pull the flat panel of the dash and u can see where to go through at. I have a 08 jku. It should be the same on a 12.Click image for larger version

Cool Firewall

Well, it looks somewhat the same on my 2012, except behind the spray on foam is solid firewall. On my '08
the opening went through the firewall. Any 2012, owners?

I owned a '09 and now own a '14. In both cases that opening is there. On my '14 I was a little thrown off track as on the engine side of the firewall the hole was covered with paper, possibly tape, that was then painted over. It appears to me that the hole was covered before the frame was painted.

Using a straightened metal coat hanger working from the cabin I was able to push the coat hanger through the foam and then through the paper with the end result being the coat hanger running along the hood line.

Try it out on your '12, it should work.

Ditto on my 2013, get that coat hanger through there and it is a tight fit because it is sealed with foam but there is definitely a hole there.

You can run power by tapping into one of the aux power outlets, then you don't need to go through the firewall.

It is definitely there as I've run about 20 wires through both ends and I can't fit anymore so I've had to use other spots in the firewall. Had the 08 before and now the 12. Both the driver and passenger side have it, feed it through with a coat hanger though. There is a metal plate you kinda have to wiggle past so it is not a straight hole, more like a S if you were you think about it.
