MOBILE HAM RIG Complete!
#11
Ok this is the most recent ham radio thread so I'll post this here.. I'm Looking into getting into ham radios with a couple of my friends who live several hours away but I cannot find any repeater locations close to their area... What should I do?

Where do you and your friends live? Sometimes there are linked repeaters which will provide extended coverage, or a high level mountaintop repeater could provide coverage over a couple of hundred miles.
Alternately, you could study for the General license which would allow for use of the lower frequencies (e.g. 80 meters, 40 meters and so on). These freqs would offer communication when there is good propagation between your two locations.
I wonder by what means did you check for repeaters, an online source, or other means?

Hate to hijack the thread here; but if I had to guess the repeater in Yazoo cty might work between the two locations. Good luck!
