Need advice on mounting CB antenna
I want to mount my antenna in between my spare tire and tailgate. Is this the best location for a CB antenna on a JK? The problem is I have a after market spare tire carrier that no manufactured mounting bracket will fit. I was planning on making a L bracket and bolting it to the flat surface of the tire carrier after removing some paint. I am also considering mounting it to the bumper. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

First off Welcome to the forum we are glad you are here.
As for mounting your CB antenna most aftermarket antenna mounts us existing bolt holes that are currently in use for your tire carrier. Look at the Crawler Concpetz, EVO and Poison Spyder mounts. I ran a Terraflex mount for a while before upgrading my rear bumper and tire carrier. All these can be purchased outright from the manufacturer or through places like Northridge4x4

The problem I see with using those brackets for the tire carrier is that the vertical tire supports attach using the bolt holes the antenna mount would use. This is why i was thinking of making a L bracket to mount to the tire. My only concern with mounting to the spare tire carrier is the antenna hitting the rear window. Is this an issue?
