Pillar antenna mount & Under-dash HAM radio setup
Bought a pair of rugged ridge's pillar lights mounting,
But only use 1 for light, so I use the other one for antenna
Gotta make the hole a little bit bigger for the antenna socket, though..
As for the ham, I use dual-band Yaesu FT 8900r with detachable face.
I put the face under the hazard button using velcro stip, and the radio under passenger's seat. (mine is RHD)
*sorry for bad pictures

I put mine under the passenger seat too. But I used the mounting bracket and fastened it to an existing metal plate using medium office binder clips with the cable connections facing outward. Doesn't bounce around that way.

I thought about mounting mine under the seats but when I looked under there and saw how much dirt and mud were there from running doorless I chose the glove box.
How does having the antenna that close to the window affect transmission and reception?

The OP can respond, but we did an antenna study at a group picnic years ago. I had an LJ with a tuffy security box in the back and a ham and cb mag mount antenna on the metal box about 1 ft away from the roll bar. SWR was terrible. When I moved the antennas further away from the roll bar the SWR was fine.
