Default Rugged Ridge CB mount(footman loop) and sPOD

I'm considering moving up to a full size CB radio from the Cobra 75. I hope to get a few more bells and whistles, as well as a little better performance vs. the hand held unit. At the same time, i'm also upgrading my antenna, where I know the largest impact will be.

With that said, I want a permanent solution for mounting the CB that i feel comfortable with. i was looking at the Rugged Ridge mount that hooks to the footman loop, and it almost looks like it would still work with an sPOD mounted above it. I'm curious if anyhow has tried it, as in, can I run this mount with an sPOD?

thanks!

Did you ever try this?

Also looking to add a permanent mount CB radio, but I have the SPOD. Wondering what options I have, as the notes on Amazon regarding the Rugged Ridge mount indicate it won't work with SPOD installed.

Another option for you if you can do without a double din radio. I have a total of $250 in the entire system and sold my OEM radio for $510. Radio is marine grade and the CB is a cobra with the speaker facing the front.

I've been wanting to do a spod for quite a while now but I have a Bearcat 880 on the RR bracket and I can tell you two things:

1. Space is at a premium
2. A full size CB bounces A LOT on that RR bracket

I have the 980. Same bracket. No bounce at all.

I also just got a spod and had the same issue. I went ahead and did the same as already stated, put an aftermarket above the cb in the dash. Cost me a little but it will pay off in convenience, and style.
