2015 alpine sub
#11
I am looking at a used 13 Sahara Unlimited with the sub on the right. if I get it, could I replace it with the 15 floor version to gain more room? Thinking if wiring could be re routed or add an extension.
Possible with little effort?

how is the sound of the in-floor sub versus the side mounted sub? when I got my '13 the one option I didnt get was the surround sound system, so I bought the kicker bolt-in upgrade kit because it is easily reversed out.. (I leased the jeep).. and it sounds a bit better than the stock infinity I had on all my other JK's.. my lease is up soon and I'll be going for a 15 (or early 16) and am trying to figure out how the newer sub sounds compared to the older.. for those that have heard both..

The new sound system they are putting in the jeep is better than years past but if your an audio man you may want to look at aftermarket
Subs are non directional, don't matter where you mount them

I've got a 2015 Rubi with the sub in the floor. I wish it was somewhere else because once I put my rubber floor liner in the bottom of my "cargo area", I can't hear those "low tones" with any crispness. I realize I could cut a hole in my mat, but then the sand would have too much fun using my sub as an automated jumping device.

I do wonder why in a Jeep they put the sub in the floor... rain, sand, dirt, etc all easily in.. and of course thats the area where most people put luggage on roadtrips.... and gear on wheeling trips..
