Removing the metal bracket is a pain for sure. However, I removed mine in my sahara and fit a touch screen flawlessly. If you're going to replace your stereo and willing to put in a little extra time, it really opens up our stereo options.

2014 here and all i did was remove two screws and the metal bracket comes right out.

Bracket was pain in the Ass ....had to cut it

''09 sahara 4 screws in precarious places. I'm sure they've developed their methods.
