I have the 6" passive bazooka tube. It outs out dam good sound for a little thing! I have a hard top and have never taken it all the way off. But with the freedom panels and doors off, still sounds good. Basically with the stock sound system, the radio is useless with no doors. Now I can hear it.

What's the difference between the passive and amplified versions? Other than the obvious.

The obvious is all I know (built in amp vs none for those not seeing the obvious)

I have the 10" 250 watt model and it sounds awesome. I haven't tried it with the top off yet, but hopefully I'll get a chance to try it out soon. With the amplified 250 watt tube you can actually run another 10" passive tube off it if you want. If you're interested I'll go take a pic of mine and post it. I have a 2 door so it takes up a pretty good deal of space in the back.

How did you wire it to the stock system?

Sorry for the late reply. Ended up going to the beach yesterday so i didn't get back until pretty late. Here are the pics. Let me know if you have any more questions on it. I'm very happy with how it sounds. I actually used it with the entire roof off and the windows open and could still hear it traveling 70 down the highway.
