Default Blinker switch not working so I decided to just replace it

For a while now I have been dealing with a blinker switch issue. It started off as the left blinker would work randomly then it eventually it got to a point where it stopped working all together. Now the RIght no longer works. It has to be in the switch becuse at first if you would shake the lever it would work some of the time. I purchased the new switch now I just need to replace it.

Has anyone replaced the switch or had the colume apart enough to see what needs to be done to replace the switch? I would like to not have to pull the Airbag and steering wheel, but if I have to then it has to happen.

Thanks,
Bunkjeep
