So I got a little lost/confused along the way but it seems like if you bought an aftermarket HU and the adapter harnesses for the steering wheel controls to that HU then in theory the steering wheel audio controls would work, right?

Default Steering wheel swap for 2010 -2011

Hi there.
Awesome. This has been one of those modifications I have been wanting to do as well.
1st question are you saying each steering wheel is keyed differently or are 2011 keyed to previous years.?
I don't have all of the electronic controls I'm ok with the false buttons. To gain a smaller size and a better looking wheel

2010 JK Sport
6 sod
AEV heat reduction hood, rear bumper
3.73 ring pinion upgrade
33x 12.50x17
Supertuned

For anyone with the 07 - 10 khaki interior that is considering this swap; you now have two visual options to consider.

I apologize for replying to such an old thread post but it amazed me the difference such a subtle modification made; these are the kind of mods that I get into; anything seemingly innocuous and seemingly minor that has a significant impact on the environment for the better. This is a vastly better looking color theme with the darker column plates . I looked three times amazed that something I wouldn't have guessed would make any difference could totally change an interior. Well done by the OP.

Ill second what j3ph3ry said and agree great looking mod. ive been thinking about doing the same thing to my 08 JKU. i'd also like to change out the center console (auto trans shifter) from a 2011+ into my 08 JKU. im sure if they are compatible at all, but i think some of the swap shops have been swapping out interiors(entire dash) from the first gen to the second gen. i dont want to go that far but i want to just have the tap shift . if anybody has any ideas if it work it would be cool
thanks
