Does updating the firmware/software of MyGIG intefer with currently installed maps?!

Does updating the firmware/software of MyGIG interfere with currently installed maps?
My current application version is: 1.055, Gracenotes:883
I have 2009 GC srt8 and wondering if updating MyGiG to the newest version interferes or removes the current existing Nav Maps or MP3 songs?!
I fair losing the pre-installed maps after completing the update to 2.403

Nope it only updates the operating system and grace notes database (if you get both updates).
To update your maps you would have to purchase the DVD and it locks to your VIN.
Stored songs are unaffected.

I have upgraded MyGiG firmware from 1.055 to 2.404 - one shot, without any problems, the upgrade took around ~ 10 mins. After the upgrade, I still have my old maps and mp3s.
